The iGT Remote Operators Course (iROCC) is for Single Channel Radio Operators, Network Administrators, and Multi-Channel Satellite Tactical and Fixed Operator personnel responsible for the operation, maintenance and management of select iDirect satellite communications products. The course provides students with the basic skills necessary to operate, maintain and manage their assigned components within a typical iDirect satellite network. In addition, the course provides students with the basic knowledge and understanding required to install and utilize the iDirect suite of applications associated with their daily job functions.
This course consists of clearly presented lectures utilizing a course training guide. Course material is reinforced daily with demonstrations and practical exercises/labs. All student exercises/labs are explicitly documented in a training guide. Each student completes hands on exercises/labs using the iDirect equipment to reinforce the structured course material.
Students study the satellite and data communications related components of the network to properly and quickly determine issues. Students also attain an understanding of general data communications protocols and procedures that are associated with the data flow through their area of emphasis within the iGT network structure.
The course goal is to equip each student with a comprehensive overview of their portion of the network from the iGT perspective.
